MOD_LAYOUT Install (Status: Major Server Problems 2/1/05)

    http://tangent.org/index.pl?lastnode_id=478&node_id=362

Will someone help me with this? I tried installing both downloads, and each said I was missing something :(

SSH is the method I was trying to install it with. I see there is an RPM on there, but I don't know how to install them.

I just started using SSH about a week ago, and was assigned the task of installing that. HELP!

    Now HTTPD won't restart :(

Here are the results of /etc/chkserv.d/apache being run

    Code:
    httpd: no process killed
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd stop: httpd (no pid file) not running
Syntax error on line 248 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot add module via name 'mod_perl.c': not in list of loaded modules
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd startssl: httpd could not be started
Syntax error on line 248 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot add module via name 'mod_perl.c': not in list of loaded modules
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl startssl: httpd could not be started
/etc/chkserv.d/apache: line 2: /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start: No such file or directory
Syntax error on line 248 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot add module via name 'mod_perl.c': not in list of loaded modules
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started
Any ideas? When I # them out it, the server restarts fine, but I think I need them running

    Are u using mod_perl ?
Is mod_perl compiled using the easyapache in WHM? If yes, take it out. Compile apache without mod_perl from WHM and then build mod_perl as DSO.

    mod_layout cannot give mod_perl error.

check /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl configtest and see where the error is.
