Yeah, I did the commenting out pretty quick, in order to get Apache back up. Your list looks the same as mine (what showed after the install anyway) so I not sure what the problem is/was.

Gotta love this computer stuff! :p

Oh yeah, I really love it when it's a server, that customers are on :p

Good Fortune to you :)

# locate libperl.so
/usr/lib/libperl.so
/usr/local/cpanel/perl/libperl.so.3
/usr/local/cpanel/perl/libperl.so

Can you tell me Richard what it returns for your Server. I'm wondering if it's looking in the wrong place for &libperl.so&. Also, when one does an install, does it matter what dir they are in? I had presumed it installs where should, but now I'm wondering, as the &apache-asp.sea& was installed into the directory I was in at the time -- which may be why it wasn't installed Server-wide.

Ok
Sure...

/usr/lib/libperl.so
/usr/local/apache/libexec/libperl.so
/usr/local/cpanel/perl/libperl.so.3
/usr/local/cpanel/perl/libperl.so
/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/apaci/libperl.so

Hope that helps...
Richard.

Thanks. With regard to the second part of my question, do you recall what directory you were in when you did the install?

Doh!

/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/apaci/libperl.so

Obviously you were in root.

Ok
Ooops sorry :p

/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/apaci/libperl.so

Therefore /root
looks right.

I think I just signed in, then did it, so that would be correct, since /root is the initial dir upon signin.

Richard.

It's obvious that something went wrong as a search for &mod_perl-1.26& does not turn up anything. Might as well have go with installing from &root&.

I stand corrected. I did find this when I looked:

[apache-asp]
aspinstaller* install* mod_perl-1.26/ mod_perl-1.26.tar.gz

Ok
Wow, when I locate mod_perl-1.26 I get so much stuff, I cannot see the top if it, unless I interrupt it.

Such as...
Last several lines:

/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/blib/man3/mod_perl.3
/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/blib/man3/mod_perl_traps.3
/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/blib/man3/Apache::src.3
/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/blib/man3/Apache::SIG.3
/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/blib/man3/Bundle::Apache.3
/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/blib/man3/Apache::Options.3
/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/Makefile
/root/apache-asp/mod_perl-1.26/pm_to_blib

Yep, it appears that everyone of them that I can see, is in the /root dir.

Richard.

Well, even installing in &/root& was a bust. Same errors, different directory. Now I'm really confused though, because I went back and deleted the &apache-asp& dir from within the wrong directory I had installed it and yet, when a do a locate, it still shows a being in a directory that is no longer there. How can that be?

No, I've been working with my DC Tech Support.

I wonder then, should I have uninstalled the &apache-sea& from the incorrect dir. I first installed it in, rather than deleting the dir?

Ok
Well, I don't think it matters, as if you just delete the directory and the files, plus remove it from httpd.conf then I think you've completely &uninstalled& it. I THINK.

So, I dunno:p
