    Hi,

can anyone tell me why I am getting this warning while restarting httpd after I add python to it.

Loaded DSO /usr/local/apache/libexec/mod_python.so uses plain Apache 1.3 API, this module might crash under EAPI! (please recompile it with -DEAPI)

Is there any fix for this ?

I am using CentOS release 3.5.

    Thanks

I also have a lot of this on my dso modules when I try to start Apache.

    Like this (and many more):
Loaded DSO libexec/mod_bandwidth.so uses plain Apache 1.3 API

I have had this for months, and later upgrades and recompile have not solved it. I have just give up to find a solution. I have read some many posts and tried different things suggested in these forums, that I simply can´t find any solution. This happened during an update of php/apache from WHM, and can´t get rid of it.

I run a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, dual Intel cpu.

On a search I performed just now, I get 14 threads about this, but there wasn´t any explaination to why this happens or a safe way to solve it. Most of the threads was from 2003.

I would like to figure out why it happens but I don't think that the answer is gonna be easy to find. I even tested it on another centos box we have with cpanel and even with strait compile of apache and adding the module I still get error

Hoe did you add python? Is it linked dynamically to apache? or is python installed from source?

    Well!

I tried dynamic first and failed the build from source worked on a non-cpanel box. Cpanel box didn't work. For me anyway it's a nice to have thing, But none of my users need it yet and of cource it is not easy to add and configure so It's no longer high on my to figure out list as I got enough on that list as it is.

In the mod_python source directory I edited src/Makefile and added -DEAPI to the CFLAGS line. It compiled without issue and no longer gave me the error.
