It's been a while since I was on these forums but they've always been helpful in the past!

I just set up a new cpanel server for a friend and he wanted to use ruid2 to get security approaching that of suPHP but without the pretty huge performance hit so we've been experimenting with mod_ruid2 and xcache (3.0.1 compiled manually) and its working great performance wise.

The only issue we're having so far appears to be that every so often, anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours after an apache restart, the cache will spontaneously reset with a new instance ID, and will continue to do so at random anywhere between 5 minutes and 2 hours later again, meaning cache has to be built back up each time, this is obviously not ideal so we'd like to stop it happening.

Is this behaviour by design? Could something be resetting it?
