mod_security on centos

    Hi,

    Does anyone here have mod_security running on centos? would you mind sharing a how-to if so?

    look under the cPanel section of WHM in Addon Modules....you'll find mod_security as well as a lot of other nice things there.

    mod_security is a module for apache. It doesn't matter what OS you're running. ;)

    Yeah as casey said it will run on any apache installation. I have a guide on my website how to do it under the cpanel guide. Be aware that if you do use it the ruleset it a bit sensitive...I am going to work on new rulesets over the next few weeks.

    I have followed tutorials but get this when i try to restart the server:

    httpd startssl
    Syntax error on line 325 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
    mod_security: Failed to open the audit log file: /var/log/httpd/audit_log
    /usr/sbin/httpd startssl: httpd could not be started

    Doh, just realised i needed to touch the audit _log.... not enough coffee :)
