mod_security - purge concurrent logging automatically?

We currently use mod_ruid2 + mod_security, a few days ago I had a customer query the amount of space their cPanel account was reported to be consuming. Almost half of their usage was listed in "Other Usage", upon investigation I found that their mod_security logging directory was filled with logs from more than 2 months ago.

How long should audit logs be kept and is their an automated way of clearing them once they're outside this time period?
