What's best way to configure mod_security rules ?

mod_security was installed by easy apache

under WHM > mod_security "edit config" see white page

may be good to use standard configuration OR to link to other rules ? and how ?

At top of that page, click "Default Configuration" which should populate that area. Scroll down and click Save. That gets you going. Lots of threads on the topic of adding additional rules on these forums worth looking up to take it up a notch after that.

You'll have to do some research on all your options:

I recommend the atomic rules. Also you should install ConfigServer ModSecurity Control
