Hi, I was wondering if anyone had figured out how to compile mod_speling with apache while not destroying apache/cpanel/whm?

mod_speling comes as part of the apache build. It must be compiled with apache. I have not figured out how to compile apache myself, outside of cpanel, and have it work with cpanel.

    # cd /home/cpapachebuild/buildapache/apache_1.3.33/src/modules/standard
    # /usr/local/apache/bin/apxs -c mod_speling.c
    # /usr/local/apache/bin/apxs -i -a -n speling mod_speling.so

Then add "CheckSpelling on" into the VirtualHost section of httpd.conf

    mod_speling > ok? not ok?

Hi.. look, I know this is an old post over 6 months, but I wondered if anyone has actually used the mod_speling with cPanel - especially somewhere around version 10.8.1 with an Apache 1.3.33, RHE 3 #4. Any success? Are the build instructions posted in this thread still good ? There is not much on the net or here on cPanel that I can find. I'm trying hard to correct spelling and CAP errors - but a mod_speling friend in the meantime would sure help, and save some clients. Thanks!!

I am looking for this too.. I got the mod_speling compiled ok, but I can't find the proper method for turning it on per domain in cPanel. All hints are appreciated!
