Is it possible to have concurrent mod security logs to be parsed and entered into the modsec database?

As I understand it, the default for the mod security module installed using WHM EA build option, is serial logging to the modsec_audit.log. That file is parsed hourly and events logged in the modsec database. So that logged events can quickly be checked and queried in the mod security section of WHM.

If for performance reasons we want to use concurrent logging that writes each event to an individual log file, instead of appending to modsec_audit.log, is it still possible to use the modsec database and WHM interface, or do you have to use serial logging in order for that function to work?
