Hi we read about Monin and I would like to ask if this software is really needed on a server or may cause some conflict if cpservd is running too.

This software restarts apps if they are not running, and the chkservd service also do this. But Monit also has some other features like load, cpu, mem monitoring for stopping services if they exceed them.

What do you suggest? I wait comments.

    Thank you!

    Go on, have a guess
You should not use the monit functionality to restart services (as with SIM) otherwise you'll end up with race conditions with chkservd, usually with httpd, exim and pop3 services.

I know this is an old post but can chkservd be disabled if we prefer to use MONIT?
