    Hi All,

    Can someone pls advise me what are the most likely causes of intermittent mysql connection errors:

    Err#1 [22-Jul-2005 00:25:54] PHP Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in ...

    I'm seeing the above error on one of the busiest sites on my server (fedora, apache 1.3.33, mysql 4.0.22, ) about 2-4 times per month.

    Out of memory? (512Mb)
    Too many simultaneous mysql connections?
    CPU maxed out?

    What can I do to diagnose and nail this problem?

    Thanks for your help.
