    Hi

I was just wondering what is the best way to move a name server with minimal downtime and disruption.

At the moment I have 2 servers in a cluster (A and B)

Server A is currently setup as the main DNS

I want to streamline my setup and have decided to keep server B and get rid of server A

I'm guessing I have to do it in the following order.

    1. move the DNS myhosting.com domain to server B
    2. uncluster the servers???
    3. Go to "Basic cPanel & WHM Setup" on server B and assign new IP addresses to DNS1 & DNS2.myhosting.com
    4. change DNS1/2 IP's at the domain name registrar site.

    Does this seem correct?

    Pete

After thinking about it more maybe this should be the order

    1. uncluster the servers
    2. move the DNS myhosting.com domain to server B (leaving the existing zone files unchanged on server A)

    3. Go to "Basic cPanel & WHM Setup" on server B and assign new IP addresses to the DNS1 & DNS2 subdomains.
    4. change DNS1/2 IP's at the domain name registrar site.

    Does this seem ok??

    Anyone?
