If a domain is changed from being physically hosted on the server (its own cpanel account) to being parked on top of another domain, will its email work if I do the following:

1.) Back up the email folders of the original domain
2.) Delete the domain's account in WHM
3.) Park the domain on top of another domain already in WHM
4.) Copy the mail folders into the right directory structure of the main domain hosting the parked one.

    Thanks.

Why don't you simply change the primary domain (under modify account). Then park the old domain on top?

Thanks! That sounds very useful, but I would appreciate some more help.

When I click the Modify an account link and choose the domain that has its own cPanel account but which I want to park, all I see is the 'Alter account settings' dialog box. I am not quite sure what to do here. Don't quite get the primary domain concept either.:(

Hrm, you should see something like the attached. You should be able to edit the domain, username, etc.

    Are you a reseller?

Is the domain that you want to park not on the same server anymore? And is it going to be parked on top of a seperate cpanel account?

I might have misunderstood what you were trying to do.

My method would work if changing the primary domain and then parking the old domain on top within the same cpanel account.

If you are simply wanting to park the domain on to a new cpanel account, yes, you'll need physically move any e-mail over.

Thanks a bunch. Both the accounts are on the same server, but I want to basically convert a domain with its own cPanel account into a parked domain on top of another existing cPanel account on the server.

I guess that means physically moving the mail over?
