Moving nameservers

Ok,
am I correct in assuming that:
1. move accounts using feature in WHM.
2. point nameservers to an IP on the new server (Of course after creating entry for ns.$nameserver.com-&IP on new server)

In other words, assuming the move script configures
www
ftp
mail
mx
any sub-domains
correctly, can you just go ahead and point the nameservers to any IP on the new machine?
