I have a leased server and leased a new one (upgraded hardware). I want to transfer all accounts without downtime. I will be using the same hostname (different IP) and the same nameserver names (different IPs).

I am having problems setting up nameservers on the new box, it keeps finding the old ips and refusing to allocate new ips. Since there are no ips allocated it won't do an A record. I can add my own A records, but am unsure if this is all that needs doing?

The other thing I want to do is move a few test accounts first. When it's moved I want to bounce DNS queries from the old box to the new. Currently I have changed the IP address in the old box dns to the new IP, but that has resulted in the site not being found. This is only temporary till i change nameserver IPs and dump old box.

If anyone has done this before, advice would be appreciated.
