I am replacing my server and was wondering what the proper procedure would be for cpanel. Would I just take the cpanel backups and install those?

Is it possible to take a image from the old hard drive and put it on the new hard drive-with os included? I would think this would cause problems.

If both the server is having CPanel then you can use any of the option from the WHM's "Transfers" to copy your accounts from one server to another one.

    Checklist

    Hi Tomdchi,

Can i am just wondering about somethings.

    1) Are you trying to transfer the CPanel license from your old server to the new one?

    2) Do you already have your OS setup on the new server?

    3) Do you have specialized/custom softwares installed on the old server that requires for you to install them on the new server for the accounts to work correctly?

    Rgrds,
    -Xyber13.

I do plan on transfering the license from the old server to the new one. Is that hard to do?

I do not have it setup yet. Parts are still coming in and I should have it built in a couple of days. I am using centos 5.2 and will use the same on new server.

I don't have anything special on the old server, just centos, cpanel/whm, whmcs, and some open realty sites (php real estate listings sites).

    CPanel Transfer scheme

    Hey,

I remember reading just a couple of days back, on the forums that one of the users saying there is this CPanel transfer assistance program. I cannot seem to recall where it is. So users, who know, please help... Or you can just send them a support ticket...

    Rgrds,
    -Xyber.
