Is it completely safe to switch Apache MPM from Worker to Event? Apart from restarting httpd service, will it change other configs or perhaps directory permissions or not?

I suppose to do so, I’d have to disable Worker then simply enable Event on EasyApache 4 right?

Hello @sepisepsep,

You can simply enable the Event MPM and disable the Worker MPM in your EA4 build profile. Once you start the next build, the EasyApache 4 update process will automatically take care of the installation. We document the differences between each MPM at:

Multi-Processing Modules - MPMs - EasyApache 4 - cPanel Documentation

Additionally, there are a couple of issues to be aware of when using the Event MPM:

1. You must manually configure the values found in WHM >> Apache Configuration >> Global Configuration:

EA4 MPM Event

2. If you want to use HTTP2 and secure permissions for PHP files, then PHP-FPM is the handler you'll want to use with the Event MPM. There's some discussion of the various options you can use at:

Prefork and HTTP2

Thank you.
