Hey there! The most common reason for this to not work properly is that the passive port range isn't open in the server's firewall. You would want to check the PassivePortRange settings inside the /etc/pure-ftpd.conf file on the system, and then make sure that port range is open in the server's firewall. Can you check that and let us know if that helps?

You're not really helping us to determine the fault, what error do you see ?

In the meantime try this.
In filezilla go to the ftp config properties for that connection, choose the transfer settings tab and play with the default, active and passive settings.
