The price is simple: Sell it for 200-300 $ and you will sell 1-2 copies.

Sell it for 100-150 $ and you will sell 5-10 copies.

Sell it for 50 $ (like I do with mine) and you will sell 40-50 copies.

Your decision ;))

As Kosmo stated $50.00 will put your theme on a whole lot more boards than the $200 price will. However, selling at $100 with the guarantee that the skin will be updated within a reasonable timeframe everytime some feature is added to CPanel and then freely downloable by those who have purchased it, will make it more attractive at a slightly higher price..
Personally I\'m willing and ready to send you $50.00 right now for an \"as-is\" version and $75.00-$100.00 for a custom version with our name (Asianet) replacing (CPanel) in the graphic logo.. Have to sit back and and think hard about a higher price than that though..
On another note - where does the Support Center login take the user? What Knowledge Base does the link at the buttom go to?

The support login...

Thanks for the info on prices guys. Im not too concerned with selling alot of copies, but I dont want to charge people too much money. So I think I will sell it for around $50 dollars.

As of right now, I run my support system through a program called PerlDesk. Its a handy little program and you can download it and use it for free at http://www.perldesk.com. Anyone should be able to add in the url of thier support area if they have one.

The problem is, if you did in fact wish to add this option, you would have to edit every page and I would like to disperse the skin with very little setup involved.

So, I can either setup the skin as php and import the left bar, or I can use a frame to display the left bar. This way, everyone will only have to edit two files (the top.html contains a JS dropdown menu where it says \"site nav\"). Unless CPanel has a variable for including external files?

I think that setting up a frame would be the best possible option because not everyone will want to use php. A frame would also decrease the overall size of the theme.

Let me know what you guys think and I should have a stable working theme with different colors ready for release by febuary 8th, 2002.

Thanks again guys!

I vote for a borderless frame with no scrollbar option. That way we can customize the frame to go where we want it to and perhaps add some other links in there..

Now tell me, how much to put the name of our service in the logo block to replace the word CPanel.....

Also, small recommendation..... Where you have the copyright notice, you might want to consider making that \"design (C) Copyright 2002 deodreamer\" ...

Now, send us all email and tell us where to send our checks so we won\'t be delayed in downloading this when you have it completed...

Few things you can quickly add in left frame could be:

(1) WebMail login for default acount in the format like you\'ve used for the support login.
(2) A method of linking to support forums, in the format like you\'ve used for the support login.
(3) An Icon for linking to PHP Info.
(4) An Icon for linking to Perl Diver

With those I can\'t imaging what else could make it more perfect.....

OK, borderless frames it is. I will get started on that at the beginning of next week.

As far as the header goes, I will include the .psd file and the font with the package so that everyone can customize the header to thier own specifications.

I think that I will only release the blue color scheme for the time being and add more colors for the skin a few weeks after its release. This will ensure that I will be able to release on friday, febuary 8th.

deodreamer,

whenever your site is ready: send me the URL so I can list it at cpanelthemes.com. My site gets ~25 unique visits a day and these people should come over to you too. Good job must be honoured.

New Idea

I have considered a new idea but wanted to get all of your feedback first before proceeding.

CPanel build 9.0+ supports the new variable:

<cpanel include=\"blah.html\">

If i was to use this, i could probably decrease the size of the theme by at least 500k and it would mean that I wouldnt have to use an additional frame at all.

I have setup a new URL which I will release when the theme and site are complete and ready for sale. I will keep you all posted.

Kosmo, will do bud, I will also display a link to your site as well.

Tell me what you all think about the include variable and if I should use it.

makeing it load faster is a PLUS!!! that\'s teh main problem with Carlos\' theme that is by default now. Takes 45 seconds to load on 56k. So making this thing faster is a big deal to lots of people. Man that think is nice looking!!!
