    Hi,
I recently changed a server I run with CPanel to use mysql4.1 and now I can no longer login as the root user (via command line or otherwise).

What should I check or look at? (Yes I've already tried resetting the password in WHM)

Have you upgraded the MySQL client tools? MySQL 4.1 uses a new password hash format...try checking Use old style (4.0) passwords with mySQL 4.1 (required if you have problems with php apps authenticating) in Tweak Settings, and if it works after that, you most likely forgot to update the MySQL client tools.

    Code:
    lpmusix@redrover$ mysql --version
    mysql Ver 14.7 Distrib 4.1.10a, for portbld-freebsd5.4 (i386)

Note: all client user accounts (for mysql) are working as they should, it just seems to be the root login not working.
