Hi. im about to buy a hosting plan which includes the CPanel.
What i need to know is that if my database uses SQL and coldfusion can i then use MySQL, because when i choose my sever technology in the "define a site" in dreamweaver there is an option for coldfusion and PHP MySQL and this made me wonder if MySQL only works with PHP codes.

Hope this isnt a really stupid question, because iam really new to this.

Mysql will work with anything, but if you are going from sql to mysql, or the other way arround, you may need to find a converter online - and there are several free ones out there but dont ask me where - to conver the data in case its not ISO compliant, as Microsoft SQL has a lot of non ANSI compliant commands and data sets.
