    Whenever I take the database backup from the CPanel, I see the file is hardly 10-20 kb, wheras the database is in MB on the server.
    Seems to be a Cpanel bug, but not sure, Anyone can help me here.

    Thankyou...

    do you have any special characters in your password. Try changing that to some simple password.

    if that also is not helping, use some script and put that into cron.

    #!/bin/bash

    mysqldump -u username -ppass databasename > /home/username/public_html/file.sql

    This script will be enough for taking backup. run this every night or so and download using the http://domain.com/forum.sql link :)

    If the mysql has got large size, add this at the end of script.

    tar czf file.sql.tgz file.sql
    rm -f file.sql
