I keep killing MySQL and the command by running /etc/init.d/./mysql stop However I notice that later MySQL will be running again. How is this possible? Does WHM have a cron job that makes sure this is running and starts it?

Why are you killing MySQL anyways?

Yeah.. the chkservd (daemon) runs and makes sure that it's going.. why are you killing it, if you don't want it on there, uninstall it rather than keep killing it.. :|

Thanks for the help. I have good reasons for keeping it installed but not running it. I would just like to know how I can have chkservd not restart it.
