mysql crashing every few hours

    Hi, My sql keeps crashing every so often im using mysql (4.0.24-standard)

    And its crashing every few hours and ideas why it would do this

    Hi, try to lookup CPU/Memory/MySQL Usage, coz it could be a bad script, which is running and crushing your mysqld. Just check it often, find user and then you will be able to do something. Regards

    if this is a standard install, look in the /var/lib/mysql folder for the various log files, mainly the one the ends with the .err

    check the log files and you can usually find out what's causing the crash.

    install 'mytop'. it is very useful to check the mysql usage.

    Might always want to run memtest86, just to be sure.
