Ok, so I'm hosted with x10Hosting, which is a hosting company that uses cPanel. x10Hosting automatically generates a 7 letter username which I don't want. I submitted a ticket to get it changed, which will also change the increment in MySQL Databases. If I create a MySQL database, hook it up to Wordpress, will my site be damaged, or will the MySQL database name change? Thanks :D

EXAMPLE: My current MySQL names are covaltyc_NAME. If I hook that up, when x10 changes the cPanel username, will the database change in wordpress to covalty_NAME or will it ruin the whole site?

THANKS!

Hello :)

The database itself with still exist. However, assuming your hosting provider uses database prefixing, the database name and database username will change. You will need to edit your Wordpress configuration file so that it uses the updated database name and username.

Thank you.
