MySQL database names

We have clients that attempt to create a database that is of the form:

domain_com

CPanel affectively makes this database as:

user_domain_com

That is fine, but then the users cannot add users to these databases. If I go in and recreate the database, as:

domaincom

which makes it:

user_domaincom

All works fine. Which leads me to think that CPanel does not like database names that use their own _ character. Thats fine if that is the case, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something here. Can anyone else create database of the above form (user_domain_com) ? Is this a problem CPanel developers are working on? Just need some information to tell my clients.

You cannot have multiple underscores in your database names or usernames. Post a warning in your skin to tell your clients to use single name databases & users.
