    Hi fellas,

I've been searching for anything i can find for this problem but i still cant work it out. first off. fantastico would error for everything when you installed a program due to the database problem but they released an upgrade to fix that error. the cpaddons mysql error was fixed in a current release and i downloaded that. but i still cant install anything manually thru the shell without the same database type errors .for instance. Im trying to install serendipity from scratch. pretty simple to do really. untar it, load the page up, make sure all permissions are right. make your mysql database, make the user, make the user/database combine and give them all permissions. all should be set, install time. cannot access database. my mysql is fine. fantastico installs everything perfectly without a hitch and im assuming if i went to install anything from cpaddons it would be great too after the current fix for it.

does anyone know of a fix for this or even a way of adding serendipity to cpaddons or fantastico until this mysql error with cpanel is fixed?

thanks in advance for your help.

PS. cpanel 11 is the dogs bollocks. x3 is a killer. keep up the tremendous work.

i get heaps of requests for serendipity on my server. any chance of that becoming a cpanel addon?

The cPAddon framework is open so anyone can make any web app a cPAddon. For documentation on how to do this, simply visit:

    thanks for that david.

It would be interesting to find some people who have added other scripts to cpaddons as even tho the instructions are good. i could do with some help as its far too complicated for my knowhow:) it would just be nice if the mysql permissions error was fixed in general.
