Mysql date and time error

    Hi there this is a little bit strage to me why is there a 12 days diferecnce between date as root and mysql?


    as root i run date it is th 5th

    root@server [~]# date
    Fri Nov 5 23:18:27 EET 2010

    mysql now() it is the 18th

    mysql> select now();

    +---------------------+
    | now() |
    +---------------------+
    | 2010-11-18 00:45:27 |
    +---------------------+
    1 row in set (0.00 sec)





    root@server [~]# mysql -e "show variables like 'system_time%'" -NBr && mysql -e 'select now()' -NBr && date
    system_time_zone EET
    2010-11-18 00:46:36
    Fri Nov 5 23:20:07 EET 2010


    any ideeas how i can get mysql tu use the current date?

    Solved!


    It was a probelm with the hwcolck on the VPS.

    If you get this ask your provieder to power off your VDS. restar dose not cut it. it needs to be a shutdown.
