Mysql execution privileges

    You can select the following privileges for a user for a specific data base.
    SELECT, INSERT, UDPATE, DELETE, INDEX, etc. but not EXECUTE. Is there any specific reason for that?

    I have to change it manually to give someone access to execute custom routines.
