Mysql failed to start

    1. #killall -9 mysql

    #/usr/sbin/mysqld --basedir=/ --datadir=/var/lib/mysql --user=mysql --pid-file=/var/lib/mysql/servername.com.pid --skip-locking &

    service mysqld stop
    killall mysqld -9

    service mysql stop
    /etc/rc.d/init.d/chkservd stop
    rm -rf /tmp/mysql.sock
    rm -rf /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
    service mysql start
    /etc/rc.d/init.d/chkservd start
    ln -s /tmp/mysql.sock /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
    ln -s /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock /tmp/mysql.sock
