    Hello all,

    Lately for the past month or so I've been battling a terrible mySQL problem where the server will run absolutely fine (Load under 1.00 but usually under 0.50). Then all of a sudden the server load will skyrocket to 50.00+, then in myTOP via SSH there usually (99% of the time) several things in there written in gold.

    Screenshot of myTOP as this problem happens

    Server Stats:

    Dual Xeon 3.0GHz with HyperThreading
    1GB DDR Memory

    Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

    I see you have wordpress queries running.

    Try this and post the output :
    Connect to mysql via ssh

    show status like '%tmp_%';

    show status like '%uptime%';

    should output :

    mysql> show status like '%tmp_%';
    +-------------------------+--------+
    | Variable_name | Value |
    +-------------------------+--------+
    | Created_tmp_disk_tables | 264967 |
    | Created_tmp_tables | 657012 |
    | Created_tmp_files | 5 |
    +-------------------------+--------+
    3 rows in set (0.03 sec)

    mysql> show status like '%uptime%';
    +---------------+--------+
    | Variable_name | Value |
    +---------------+--------+
    | Uptime | 139578 |
    +---------------+--------+
    1 row in set (0.00 sec)
