I have a dedicated server running cpanel, Red Hat etc. I was wondering if anyone knows why it is necessary to put Localhost with a Capital L in my phpcode, phpmyadmin config file etc. And where do I go to change this so I can make it accept lowercase localhost?

    Thanks

    Jay

    SSH into server as root:

    Code:
    pico /etc/hosts
Add the following line at the bottom:

    Code:
    127.0.0.1 Localhost
    or
    Code:
    127.0.0.1 LOCALHOST
    whatever you want

    Then Control-X
    Save file

I'm not sure if you have to reboot for the changes to go into effect, but do it just to be sure :)

    MySundown,

Thank you for your response, my hosts file already has :

    127.0.0.1 localhost

The weird problem is that the server is requiring me to put Localhost in all my scripts. I cant find anywhere in the server where it has a host set as Localhost.
