    Trying to install a sql to a newly created db but got the error below:

    root@server [~]# mysql -uuser_vb -p user_dbname </home/user/public_html/user_dbname.sql
    Enter password:
    ERROR 1153 at line 8362: Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet'

    How can I fix that? The sql is only 29MB in size.

    at /etc/my.cnf
    ==========================
    [mysqldump]
    quick
    max_allowed_packet=16M
    ==========================

    Change this to a higher value and try.

    if the above is not there in ur etc/my.cnf then add it as below:
    ========================
    [mysqldump]
    quick
    max_allowed_packet=30M
    ========================
    and then try.
