    Hello,

Up till yesterday (and for the last 3 months) I had an application connecting successfully to my mysql database. I have CPANEL set to do only stable updates.

Today all of a sudden (with no changes what so ever on the application ...which has been live for about a month) the application cannot see the database it has always been using. It gives this error:

Could not connect to SQL database. Incorrect database name 'ecorderf_ofsdb '

    Questions:
    - did something change since last nights updates?
    - any ideas on how I can debug this and find a solution?
    - is there any way to do a update rollback?

    any ideas will be appreciated

    thanks

    David

Fist thing I would do is see if the database still exists. You can check this by logging into WHM and go to the MySQL section and click on phpmyadmin and see if it is listed there.

If itis gone, you'll have to restore from a backup.

    missing database?

I stumbled upon losing a database while on cpanel only the database wasn't important so I never really put too much attention to it. Just a thought, what if the database was important? Maybe I'm screwed though I have backups, just restore but then again, losing a database is not an option, even if you have backups or not, don't lose the database! What are the common reasons when your database gets missing and what to do when you still have your database up but your scripts are not connecting to it? Any ideas? Will be very much appreciated.
