In my clients with MySQL databases, they have this error message:

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

Login to WHM as root and restart MySQL or if it is running check the socket it may be /tmp/mysql.sock if it is there symlink it
