    How can I increase the packets allowed in MySQL? I have some large databases that I need to move (100mb and 180mb) when I try to upload them through Navicat they bomb out with error messages similar to the above about packet sizes?? Any help would be appreciated.

    Add the below directive in your my.cnf file and restart mysql service:

    max_packet_size = 180MB

    There should be no space between 180 and MB.

    The my.cnf file is in the /etc directory. Edit it & increase the max_packet_sizesize mentioned earlier by Kailash :)
