Hello , I recently transfered all of my files to a new dedicated server. Everything seems to be working ok except any files that attempt to connect to mysql database ether produce a blank screen or continue to display the loading message with no sign of stopping. The syntax of the files is correct as tested locally and on another server, I am running 4.1.18 which was included with cpanel and using PHP to connect. Mysql, is listed as running and i have restarted it a few times. I am guessing the probelm lies with the /etc/my.cnf file it is only the following

    set-variable = max_connections=500

Can anybody point me in the direction i need to fix this issue? thank you.

Have you checked the log files for any possible hint to the cause of the issue??
