Hi,

I see this in CPanel news:-

Mysql Access Hosts Users can not setup their mysql databases to be accessible from any host they choose (4.5.0 build 74 or later only)

I have clients who need to connect to Mysql remotely with the mysql ODBC kit from mysql.com - How can I set them up to connect to Mysql remotely?

Thanks

Steve

Just add the ip they are connecting from in their cpanel and they should be all set to go.

Anyone Get This To Work

I have tried but mysql keeps denying access. I checked my users database and found the new hosts in there. Does anyone know if being behind a firewall could cause my access to be denied? I don't think that is the problem but that is the only solution I can think of.

Well... my problem was that I failed to use the username and password set in the mysql cpanel section... I tried to use the un/pw of my cpanel account... too much coffee or something.
