Just got a new server from theplanet, and their support does not seem to understand the issue. mysql is leaving numerous large files in the /tmp partition, causing it to fill up and then subequently causing services to crash. There is some reference to this being a bug on the mysql.com site, but our old server has the same version of mysql (5.0.85-community).

Has anyone ever experienced this issue? Google doesn't seem to be much help on the issue. Upgrading the mysql server also seems to be a bit tricky as well.

    Hello,

As of my experience, The temp of the mysql is located in /var/lib/mysql. If you are suffering from full tmp then search for /tmp rotation.
