mysql trying to connect with cpanel user instead of mysql user?

    Hi,

    Recently someone ran easyapache and mysqlup on this server.. now php does not authenticate correctly with mysql. Consider the code:

    But seems like it is trying to connect as cpanel user "vimal". The error I receive in browser is:

    any ideas what could be the issue?? :confused:

    It's funny, we just ran into this problem this evening. One of our other admins managed to figure it out:

    In /usr/local/lib/php.ini change:

    to

    Otherwise it will force the username of the user PHP is running under. Not sure if this suddenly became turned on by default with a new update or whether the user ran something to enable it. Hope that helps.
