    MySQL Updates

Hi- I have a hosted site from mysitespace.com and the mysql version they have for me is 4.0.20 standard. I want to take advantage of some new charset features of the current version and asked them when they will update the software. They told me that I had to wait for cpanel to make this update and that is why I am here. When will this update happen? I cannot do a search in Japanese until I get the new mysql version.

Any info would help. Thanks in advance,
    Jason

You could download the rpms and install yourself.

You missed the part where they said "I have a hosted site from mysitespace.com" ;)

Now you are going to get their host in trouble :D

v4.0.20 is the latest production version. Don't expect any sane provider to be offering alpha/beta version of a database server.

    MySQL v 4.1

I have been waiting forever it seems to use MySQL version 4.1. I really would like to take advantage of the language capabilities. mysitespace.com still hasn't updated this, and last I contacted them they said CPanel had to do this. Is this true, and if so when will this happen?

Thanks for your help. It's been over a year!

Through WHM, it is possible to choose which MySQL version to use - 4.0X or 4.1X. It's been this way for quite some months now.

In short, your host currently has the ability to upgrade from MySQL 4.0x to 4.1x and so if you want this to happen, you should contact them about this.

Where exactly is this option in WHM? In Tweak Settings, all I've got is an option go go with version 3 or 4. There is no option for 4.1.

Should I be using the CPanel CURRENT tree instead of the RELEASE tree, or am I looking in the wrong place?

    Thanks,

    Matt
