Prior to running the upgrade in WHM, please ensure to create a full MySQL-based backup of the databases (as it suggested in the MySQL Upgrade wizard).

Hi, is it possible to restore the old version of MySQL after the upgrade, if there are some problems found?
My current version is 5.1.73, is it recommend to upgrade to 5.5 or 5.6?
I am planning to upgrade mostly because automated WHM update dont go through because of too old MySQL version error. (WHM now 11.44.1)

Edit: Was there just new update to WHM that went through regardless of MySQL version?

    Hello :)

The cPanel update will still proceed, but it's advised to ensure at least MySQL 5.5 is installed. Downgrading MySQL is unsafe and not supported.

    Thank you.
