I created a new account for a friend and gave them the liquid web name servers to list where they registered their domain name. Was that the right way to go about it? Is there anything else we need to do to point their name to their new account? Apparently I did something wrong cause I cant bring up their site.

Are you the server administrator? If so you should use whatever nameserver you normally use when configuring new cPanel accounts and use the IP address that you used when creating the account in the zone file records.

If you're an end-user you should ask your web hosting provider.
