    Hi all,

I have just purchased a new dedicated server and ran through the initial set up process. I am having a problem with DNS it seems though. I have purchased a new domain to use purely as the address for my Name Servers and Host name for the new server so..

    1. - Points to the first first IP address of my new server
    2. - Points to the second IP address of my new server
    3. - Points to the first IP address of my new server and it also configured as the servers hostname

I have created my first new account on the server, and have given it number 1 and 2 as its name servers. Is that all i need to do? Do i need to configure anything within whm to make it actually work as a name server, or does it do it by default? When i change the name servers over to 1 & 2 with the registrar all i get on nslookup for the domain itself is it doesn't exist. If i nslookup 1 & 2 it returns the IP addresses i assigned.

Thanks for any help you can give.

you have to register your name servers at your registrar first IP address second IP address

until they re registered they do not exist
Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...
