Hi

I have been really confused about this and wondering if this could possibly impact my server performance.

I have setup multiple accounts on my cPanel server - and I prefer to use cPanel as web server only and not DNS server. For DNS, i am using AWS Route 53 service for all my accounts on the same server.

As you might know, Route 53 assigns different name servers for each domain, I could not really provide a single set of name servers while setting up my server hence I provide a dummy one.

I was wondering if having it setup this way would have any adverse impact on performance of my websites or performance of WHM/cPanel login?

One more question -
I know I can select name servers at registrars while setting up an account. Is there any way to change it afterwards?

Thanks

Hello :)

There's no negative impact on your websites if you use false local name servers when the DNS is handled on a remote server. There's never any DNS interaction with the cPanel server when visitors access the website because the DNS is handled remotely.

I know I can select name servers at registrars while setting up an account. Is there any way to change it afterwards?
Yes, you can change the name servers for a domain name via "WHM >> DNS Functions >> Edit DNS Zone".

Thank you.
