Ok so I know how to edit the DNS records from ssh, I go into /var/named and find the domain and edit it. This is a lot faster than doing it through WHM when I have to add google as the mail server.

But then to reload them I have to go into WHM and edit, then save. How after I edit these named files for each domain how do I then reload them so they work?

    Thanks for any advise.

From root level SSH, 'rndc reload' is what you're looking for. That command will run through all of the zonefiles in /var/named/ referenced by the named.conf and refresh any zones that have been updated.
