    I'm running Fedora 2.

    Named starts chroot'ed to /var/named.
So it's looking for the zone files under /var/named/chroot/var/named
But cpanel is puting them under /var/named

    And ideas?

    Go on, have a guess
I don't think cPanel supports the chrooted BIND environment (could be wrong). To fix, comment out in /etc/sysconfig/named

    # ROOTDIR=/var/named/chroot

    Then restart named.
