    i currently have WHM 11.11.0 cPanel 11.15.0-C17665
on server on FreeBSD 6.2 . everytime i restart named (bind) through the WHM, i get the following error msg: named has failed, please contact the sysadmin (result was "named is not running"). Oct 14 00:18:59 dracula named[14935]: stopping command channel on 127.0.0.1#953 Oct 14 00:18:59 dracula named[14935]: exiting ... and named is not started.

any ideas on why this is happening?

Your information is not enough. You should log as root and tail your /var/log/messages. You will find here more information about problem.

found the solution to my problem. in my rc.conf i had the line named_program="/usr/local/sbin/named" instead of named_program="/usr/sbin/named"
so i'm guessing that the script was trying to start the wrong named. thats why it was failing...
i already try it a few times and it is working good!!!. :)
