nameserver on my server

Hi all,

I currently have a problem with my CPanel. For some time that it makes me this error:

Service Check Raw Output:

named is not running

Startup Log:

Starting named: /etc/named.conf:4: unknown key 'rndc-key'
/etc/init.d/named: line 57: [: too many arguments
[FAILED]

Can you help me fix this?

Hello

Please try rebuilding the /etc/named.conf file. EX:

# mv /etc/named.conf /etc/named.conf.backup
# /scripts/rebuilddnsconfig

If the issue continues, could you let us know the version of cPanel you are using? EX:

# cat /usr/local/cpanel/version

Hi there, I am also getting the same error. Strangely the email comes through to me every 5 minutes (exactly).

I tried your solution and received:

nsd does not appear to be installed this system.
info [restartsrv_nsd] rebuild_conf not implemented for Bind
Wrong nameserver type.
Failed to start NSD

I am not using NSD as the nameserver program. I am using BIND.

You get the message every five minutes because chkservd, the cPanel service monitor, runs every five minutes.

We should be able to find and fix the problem much faster if you submit a ticket. There is no charge to submit a ticket and it allows us to look at the problem directly and securely give you more personal service than is possible in a public forum.
