    Hello,

    I have 1 domain for example: domain.com and I want use this domain as main nameserver domain for all my vps.

    I have 3 vps and all run WHM.
    VPS1 - WHM
    VPS2 - WHM
    VPS3 - WHM

    In the vps1 I have all the records for my domain.com ns etc.

    The problem is that if the vps1 go down for some reason then the vps2 and vps3 will also be down because the DNS will not reachable the domain.com.

    I try to add these but with no luck:

    vps1 -> ns1.domain.com, ns2.domain.com
    vps2 -> ns3.domain.com, ns4.domain.com

    But WHM in vps2 says it's not possible because (not reachable) ns3.domain.com, ns4.domain.com because the domain used is vps1!

    How is possible to have something like this?

    VPS1 - ns1.domain.com(ip from vps1), ns2.domain.com(ip from vps2)
    VPS2 - ns3.domain.com(ip from vps1), ns4.domain.com(ip from vps2)
    VPS3 - ns5.domain.com(ip from vps2), ns6.domain.com(ip from vps3)?

    Or how you recommended to setup one domain with my 3 vps WHM?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

    I would agree, a DNS cluster setup sounds like a good solution that would meet your needs. Since DNS Clusters servers are only able to act as a member of a cluster and not a full fledged cPanel server you'd need to allocate additional systems to be DNS cluster members. It might look something like this:

    VPS1 - Full cPanel/WHM
    VPS2 - Full cPanel/WHM
    VPS2 - Full cPanel/WHM

    DNS-Cluster1 - DNSOnly - ns1.domain.com
    DNS-Cluster2 - DNSOnly - ns2.domain.com
    DNS-Cluster3 - DNSOnly - ns3.domain.com
    DNS-Cluster4 - DNSOnly - ns4.domain.com
    DNS-Cluster5 - DNSOnly - ns5.domain.com
    DNS-Cluster6 - DNSOnly - ns6.domain.com

    Or you could simplify it and just use 2 DNSOnly clusters and domains from vps1, vps2, and vps3 would get ns1 and ns2 as nameservers (but it would be served from 2 different DNSOnly cluster members, so should one go down, the other will still be up).

    I hope that help along with the documentation provided. Please don't hesitate to write back if you have any further questions!
